James T. Davis is a petroleum engineer who joined DeGolyer and MacNaughton in 2006.

Davis received a bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering from Texas A&M University in 1999. He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers. He was elected a Vice President at D&M in 2009 and is a registered professional engineer in the State of Texas.

Major Projects

  • Davis has carried out reserves estimation and economic evaluations for oil and gas fields in offshore Africa, Europe, Middle East, and Asia, including Germany, Norway, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, Russia, and Kazakhstan.
  • Davis has experience in gas deliverability modeling used in the evaluation of producing gas fields in Western Siberia. He also performs production and economic analyses using PHDWin performance software and SYPHER.
  • He has produced Competent Person’s Reports for assets located in various regions of Russia and has performed numerous reserves estimations for both SEC and PRMS reporting requirements for private and state-owned companies.
  • His reservoir engineering experience includes conducting reserves estimations, analyzing historical production performance trends, production forecasting, material-balance estimates, gas deliverability studies, and waterflood studies. Davis has gained expertise in estimating reserves of over 100 new and mature multi-reservoir oil and gas fields spanning three continents, including analyzing waterflood performance, black oil reservoir modeling, and estimates of liquefied natural gas.
