Joseph Snyder joined DeGolyer and MacNaughton in 2009 following a 6-year career as an officer in the U.S. Navy.

In 2003, Snyder graduated from the United States Naval Academy with a bachelor’s degree in quantitative economics. Snyder is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers. He was named a Vice President of D&M in 2019.

Major Projects

As part of an integrated project team, Snyder has provided analytical expertise for evaluations of reserves, contingent resources, and prospective resources for oil and gas assets around the globe. Snyder has assisted in the performance of regional and large basin studies of the Cooper Basin located in central Australia for a major financial institute, a complete reserves and resources evaluation for many offshore and onshore basins in Mexico, and a countrywide resources evaluation in Kuwait.

He has conducted many conceptual field development and optimization studies for onshore and offshore fields around the world. Snyder has performed waterflood analyses, regional drilling cost analyses, and well completion investigations for large-scale integrated studies on fields in Kuwait and Algeria.

Snyder has performed an integrated field development study, constructing geocellular and simulation models to help determine and improve the recovery potential of applying a waterflood development scheme to various fields in Northern Africa and Kuwait.
